Michael joined us as a jack-of-all-trades to facilitate Discovery Logistics. Prior to joining Octant, he has served as VP Sample Management at Evotec, and Head of HTS, Automation and Compound Management at Elan Pharmaceuticals. He received a PhD in Biochemistry & Pathology from the University of Melbourne in his home country of Australia before moving to the US for a postdoc at LBNL. He has over 30 co-authored publications, and presented as a subject matter expert on Sample Management and Lab Automation processes within the industry.

In his spare time Michael enjoys collecting, riding and racing motorcycles. He currently owns more of them than his wife deems necessary.
