We are looking for scientists excited to work at the interfaces of genomics, cell engineering, and data science. As a member of the Octant team, you’ll contribute to Octant’s scientific strategy by designing, executing, and interpreting results for significant technology projects. You will draw from diverse aspects of biology to solve a wide variety of challenging problems. You should thrive on getting things done, are eager to troubleshoot random tasks that arise in startups, and can navigate the uncertainty of an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
In particular, we are looking for scientists who would be passionate about working on projects involving:
Multiplexed Functional Assays – performing multi-dimensional optimization for cell engineering, and leveraging multiplexed data to elucidate complex pharmacology
Deep Mutational Scanning – developing novel statistical methodologies and analyses to understand structure-function and genotype-phenotype relationships
Have a PhD in a biology-related field or equivalent experience.
Have programming experience in Python or R, and familiarity with *nix environments.
Have a demonstrated record of working on and leading impactful projects.
Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented startup environment.
