Jillian Sanzone

Jillian is an experienced medicinal chemist focusing on small molecule drug discovery and development. Her research experience spans multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, ophthalmology, cardiometabolic, and rare diseases.

Prior to joining Octant, Jillian was a medicinal chemist in the discovery chemistry group at Merck Research Laboratories in South San Francisco, CA. She holds a B.A. in Chemistry from New York University and completed her Ph.D. at NYU in 2018 under Professor K. A. Woerpel, focusing on new synthetic methodologies involving strained cyclic alkenes. She has co-authored over ten peer-reviewed publications and patents.

Outside of Octant, Jillian enjoys riding motorcycles and bicycles, hiking, and paddleboarding.
