Julia Cameron

Julia is a biochemist passionate about exploring the fusion of different fields to advance drug discovery programs. She is excited to join the OpenADMET team through the 2026 Octant Apprenticeship program.

Prior to Octant, Julia received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Davis, as well as a double minor in Global Disease Biology and Public Health Sciences. She strived for diverse research experiences during her undergraduate career with her most in depth project focused on LINC Complex Assembly for two years in the Starr-Luxton Lab at UC Davis. She went on to explore pre-implantation embryonic development and genetics through HHMI’s SURP in the Wysocka Lab at Stanford, and later researched Salmonella Typhi’s pathogenicity in the Tsolis Lab at UC Davis.

In her free time Julia enjoys anything outdoors such as hiking, kayaking, and snorkeling. She also enjoys crafting such as crochet and paint-by-number.
